B.ED. is a two year regular professional degree program to become a Teacher.

Yes, B.ED is now mandatory course if you want to apply for any teaching post in Schools even in Private Schools if you need a teaching job now you must have done this B.ED. Degree to get a good teaching job.
There are other courses if you want to teach in elementary schools like D.ED D.El.ED JBT NTT or NPTT but B.ED is Better because then you’ll be eligible for all the teaching jobs even for elementary teaching jobs
Best College to do B.ED?
There are lot’s of Universities and colleges in India and picking one as best college is not fair and if you are looking for a good college my suggestion is check if that college is approved by NCTE then go for it because when you are selecting a good college this is basic and all colleges approved by NCTE are good to go.
What is Fees for B.ED. Course?
This totally depends on colleges you choose but it varies from 50,000/- Per Year to 1,000,00/- Per year in Private college and in Government college it might vary between 20,000 to 50,000 Per Year so fees is not fixed but in most of the colleges it is 50,000 to 60,000 per year.
How to choose subjects in B.Ed?
The one and only rule you need to keep in mind while you are selecting your teaching subjects in B.ED. that you should select the subjects you have studied for at-least two years either in Graduation or Post-Graduation.

If you have B.Sc it is better for you to do M.Sc in Biology and then be eligible for teaching Biology as PGT and TGT as well.
but if you wanna go for History you can and then for TGT you’ll be eligible for Biology and for PGT you can teach history and it won’t benefit you some school might object on history so it is better to do what you have in Graduation
